PolarJournal is taking off…

For just over a month now, Rosamaria and Heiner Kubny, together with Marcel Schütz, have been running PolarJournal – a short but highly eventful period that has already brought us great joy.

In fact, an enormous amount has happened in these few weeks.
After the first newsletter, we received numerous responses, personal messages, and warm words of support. We would like to thank you all sincerely for this.

Day by day, we witness how our polar community is growing.
More and more people follow current developments in the Arctic and Antarctic on our platform, engage with us, and share their perspectives. Particularly motivating are the many fascinating contacts with people who live or work in the polar regions and share our passion for these unique areas.

This exchange, this shared interest and the constantly growing momentum are what drive us every day and make the work for and with you such a great pleasure.

One month after the takeover – a motivating start

On November 1st, 2025, we officially completed the operational takeover of the online portal.
Now, one month later, we take initial stock – and the result is entirely positive. The past weeks have been intense, shaped by onboarding, strategic planning, and many coordination tasks. Yet we clearly feel: We are on the right path.

We feel confident in our new responsibilities. The platform is running smoothly, the team is working with great dedication, and the feedback from the community confirms our direction.
In the coming months, further implementations and modernizations are planned, requiring careful preparation but promising a strong long-term impact.

For us, this first month is not only an organizational milestone but a powerful kickoff into a shared future. With confidence and energy, we continue to move forward and consistently develop the portal.

Challenges – and how we master them

The takeover took place within a very short period of time. As a small team, we handled many tasks simultaneously: organizing, analyzing, structuring, and at the same time ensuring that day-to-day operations with new reports continued smoothly. This intense phase was demanding, but it also strengthened us as a team and sharpened our focus.

Going forward, we will gradually expand our team to deliver even more news and advance the development of the portal more efficiently. Equally important to us is fast communication: We want to keep you regularly informed about current events, updates, and progress – on the website, via the PolarJournal app, and through our newsletter.

Where the journey is heading

PolarJournal continues to evolve dynamically, and the next steps are already set.
A central project is the introduction of the Norwegian language to build a vibrant polar community in Scandinavia.

Editorially, we will also grow: The category “From the Polar Worlds” already provides current updates, but in the future, we will increasingly complement it with more comprehensive articles on breaking events. Our goal is to report even faster, with more depth and even closer to the action.

At the same time, we will continue to expand our activities on social media to reach the community more directly and intensify the dialogue.

Another important step is to expand our editorial offering to include the topic of “travel.” In doing so, we aim to provide polar enthusiasts with inspiring, high-quality and professionally curated travel experiences – with the ambition to combine knowledge, fascination and responsible encounters in the polar regions.

PolarJournal is growing, opening new doors, and looking ahead with a clear vision.
With great passion and joy for everything that lies ahead.
