From 25 to 27 February 2026, the Monaco Polar Symposium will bring together leading scientists, political decision-makers, and institutions at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco. Under the theme “From Arctic to Antarctic – Translating Polar Research into Action”, the symposium will focus on how insights from polar research can be more effectively translated into concrete action in the face of geopolitical tensions and accelerating climate change.
The event is organised, among others, by the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco, the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research, and the International Arctic Science Committee.
Polar regions are regarded as early warning systems for the global climate, and the meeting aims to strengthen the integration of their scientific significance into political and societal decision-making processes.
